Energy Efficient Build
Passive-Haus Inspired Timber Build is our preferred highly insulated, thermally efficient build method using factory precision engineering meaning up to 90% less energy is needed to heat the space. Outstanding quality control and on site assembly in a matter of days provides minimal disruption to the local area.
Traditional Design & Robustness utilising a brick-built outerleaf and A Rated glazing in a variety of finishes ensure our houses are inkeeping with local surroundings and withstand the test of time.
On site checks and sign off are carried out after construction using air-tightness tests and thermal imaging to ensure all our homes adhere to the high standards we set for thermal efficiency.
Air Source Heat Pump
Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) replace gas & oil boilers by using a refrigerant and compressor to transfer heat absorbed from the outside air to the wet central heating system providing space heating and hot water supply
More than 300% efficiency is possible for ASHP meaning 3 units of heat are produced for every 1 unit of electricity used to power the ASHP. Together with our highly insulated builds and low tariff 100% renewable energy partners, heat pumps offer the best value combination for homeowners and a truly sustainable solution.
Cold Weather is not a concern for ASHP, with most heat pumps rated to be able to extract enough heat from temperatures as low -25 degrees(C). ASHP are popular across Europe and Canada where winter temperatures far exceed those of the UK.
Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery
MVHR is a typical feature in our timber frame homes. It is a reliable, low maintenance machine that is installed in the loft and ducted to both first and second floor individual rooms.
The Mechanical Ventilation aspect brings filtered, fresh air into the home and removes stagnant air through exhaust vents. This allows superior air quality throughout the home even removing allergens and moisture.
Heat Recovery takes the heat from the moist, stagnant air being exhausted from heat generating rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens, and transfers this wasted heat to the incoming fresh air. MVHR provides superior living comfort and significantly reduces heating bills.
Radiant Floor Heating
Energy Efficient Wet Systems run hot water at 29 degrees Celsius on average through pipes in the floor to heat rooms for consistent warmth throughout the day. By comparison, conventional radiators require water at 65-76 degrees Celsius to heat up a room effectively. Our builds allow even lower heat to be used, and lower heat provides lower energy bills.
Zero Cold Spots or ‘stuffiness’ compared with conventional radiators. Our radiant floor systems provide total floor surface coverage rather than heating a small patch of air at a time like a radiator does. This consistent heating system running alongside MVHR delivers an unparalleled level of comfort.
Safe and Low Maintenance wet systems are completely integrated with the build of the house with minimal maintenance.
EV Chargers are soon to be the only source of ‘refueling’ a car with the government’s ban on petrol and diesel car sales from 2035. We futureproof all our homes by installing EV Chargers as standard.
Smart innovations in EV Charger technology allows us to install EV chargers wherever parking is provided in relation to the home without worry. Chargers can also be programmed to take advantage of cheaper tariff periods from our 100% renewal electricity providers.
Upgradeable options per home are available depending on anticipated usage of electric vehicles, or as they become more mainstream. PV solar panels, or a smart battery allow even greater energy efficiency and savings.
Off Plan Options
Solar PV Array
Where sites permit (roof size, direction, shading) a Solar PV array can help reduce electricity bills and store surplus energy in batteries for further efficiency.
Store electricity from cheaper tariff periods or generated from your solar PV array and choose how and when to use it to maximise your energy efficiency.
Ground Source Heat Pump
Whilst larger developments use a ground source array where appropriate, detached homes can also choose ground source for space heating and hot water.
Collect and store rainwater to use both in the garden for irrigation, and inside the house for flushing toilets and washing clothes. Use up to 50% less mains water.
Upgraded EV chargers
Add additional EV chargers to your home or choose to upgrade to chargers with faster recharge times as charging technology advances year to year.
